The main things we look for when choosing a casual outfit are comfort and style. Obviously if you’re just lounging about or window shopping, being comfortable is a no-brainer. And because it’s so easy to opt for leggings and t-shirts on your days off, remembering the element of style can really take your outfit from drab to fab. Just because you’re not in stilettos and a fit-n-flair doesn’t mean that you can’t look your absolute best.
Without my go-to ’70s aesthetic and staple arsenal of embellished accessories, I’ve still managed to make this look my own. My Heels of Fire tee from J. Crew has served me well as something that I can just grab out of my closet and throw on without thinking too hard. I’ve dressed it down with denim culottes from Madewell and one of my absolute favorite pair of shoes from the SS17 collection – these Tommy Hilfiger slides. The woven red, white and blue adds a bit of playful, all-American girl vibe to the outfit.
Because a tee and slides seems unfinished, I’ve completed my look by adding a statement denim shirt by Lauren Moshi. She’s a talented, creative artist based in LA. Whenever I’m in the city I love to stop by her shop to see her artwork, both standing alone as well as printed onto clothing. I’m all about supporting my favorite designers and artists, especially by wearing something with such unique execution – like this denim shirt.
With a classic pair of aviators and some silver bangles for shine, I feel stylish and still comfortable! Next time you’re tempted to throw on your leggings or favorite hoodie on your day off, think about how great you could feel in something like this. Equally as comfortable, with a touch of your personality and style.
