Scenic views with a splash of lavender…

With limited options for summer travel this year, we packed up the car and headed north to one of our favorite seaside towns, Newport Rhode Island. It’s part historic, part nautical, and part garden chic. We used the scenic Cliff Walk as our backdrop for this shoot. This public access walk combines the shoreline with the architectural wonders of Newport’s historical houses of the gilded age.

While this hue is not part of my usual summer palette, this season I’ve gravitated toward lively pastels to pop dark neutrals.  “Changing things up” was the name of the game for 2020, so pairing this saturated purple top with black pants was definitely the change I was looking for.  This color palette can also transition well to fall:  think dark denim with a lavender sweater and caramel suede boots. As I say farewell to summer and hello to fall, I’m currently planning autumnal outfits…. stay tuned for “cozy chic!”

What I wore;

Top, Shoes- Alice + Olivia

Pants- H&M

Bag- Zara
