Lace is a wardrobe staple that can be dressed down as easily as it can be dressed up. This is where the layers come in. I’ve rocked this LBD all summer, but it’s easily autumn-ready by slipping a white blouse underneath. It takes the dress from night to day.
In previous blogs I’ve discussed how fun contrasting textures can be, but there’s no harm in layering similar textures as well. Lace-on-lace may not be a go-to outfit for some, but it’s easier to pull off than you may think. This blush colored lace applique bomber completes the look (and doesn’t compete with the lace on my bodice) when there’s a brisk fall breeze in the air.
Remember to keep the color palette simple so as to not overwhelm the viewer’s eye with too many elements. To accessorize, I’ve gone with a simple, over the knee black boot and a favorite pale pink crossbody. The black, white, and blush color palette isn’t distracting, and is appropriate for any occasion. I’m ready to go to any daytime or casual evening event in this look.
