The challenge of putting together a monochromatic look is playing with different textures and fabrics to create a cool look that isn’t “matchy matchy” but rather just “goes.” Today’s look incorporates denim, suede, chiffon, leather, croc and python….all blue and/or blue toned.
I intentionally mixed the tones and textures to create the illusion of a much wider color palette, while still taking advantage of what a monochromatic look can do for those of us who are somewhat vertically challenged….simply put, going with one color makes you seem taller!
Though the accessories are more in the gray family, they read very blue against the darker blue hues of my top and jeans. It is also fun to note that the center stone of my necklace is clear, NOT blue, but looks like a sapphire against my sweater.
This season I’m loving the over the knee boot….especially this blue suede number, which I would also pair with a short flippy skirt.
