Today I was inspired by a Dries Van Noten vest. Dries is a Belgian fashion designer whose work is said to be characterized by use of prints, colors, original fabrics and layering. In 2005, the New York Times described him as “one of fashion’s most cerebral designers.”
This vest is kind of avant-garde with a satin tuxedo like collar and an asymmetrical ruffle. There is also a blue pattern woven into the black fabric. It’s also a perfect piece to take you from desk to dinner. For day, I would pair it with a pencil skirt or trousers and a long sleeve tee. For night, skinny jeans, a cami, caged heals, and an acrylic clutch.
I kept the accessories simple: a Charlotte Olympia clutch (she’s one of my favorite shoe and handbag designers). This “Pandora” clutch is one of her signature pieces….a clear acrylic box with three interchangeable inserts.

Dries Von Notens designs are incredible . That vest is a piece of art . Everything you wear looks good on you but that outfit is my favorite . The Charlotte Olympia acrylic clutch is very cool . Retro
