Denim on denim on Roxbury

One of my favorite “go to” looks this year has been denim on denim. Some of you may may hesitate to dress head to toe in one look, but here’s how to avoid looking like you’re off to a rodeo:  The trick is to mix fabrics and washes…..for example, dark denim with light chambray.  Here I paired a distressed light denim skirt with a dark denim shirt.

This shoot was taken on a casual Saturday in LA, but I needed to go from casual to casual/professional later on in the afternoon.  By adding the butterscotch leather blazer, my favorite leopard heels, and a colorblocked crossbady bag,  there was no need for a wardrobe change mid afternoon!

HT3A8126One of the things that I love about shooting in LA is the colorful scenery anytime of year.  We took these pics at Roxbury Memorial Park in Beverly Hills, just steps away from Beverly Hills HS and all the great shops on Beverly Wilshire.
